2016 ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING

Dear Lesotho chess family.
It is with great honor to announce the date of the annual general meeting(AGM) of Chess Federation of Lesotho.

DATE: 11th February 2017.


TIME: 9am.


I will announce the venue later as I am working on it. however, it will be in Maseru until further notice.Any alteration will be communicated in time before the said meeting.I extend an invitation to all members of Lesotho Chess family to attend our AGM.
The club should be represented by two people,president or chairman and secretary.
A teach and a student in case of high schools and primary schools.
Tertiary clubs should send their representatives like any other club.
I humbly request everybody to preach this massage our club"s members,players in our regions and nearby chess trainers or teachers taking care of chess in such schools.

Chess Federation of Lesotho 
is running a very closed tournament of its calibare in the preparation to select five players out of six strong players in the country.Battling players are Khalema Sechaba,Klaas Tokelo,Latela Kananelo,Liteboho mohatlane and Lekau Ramokotjo. 

 
Women’s World Rapid and Blitz Championships

13990640502 48cca879a9 zThe FIDE Women World Rapid Championship 2014 continued today with rounds 6-10 being played at the Ugra Chess Academy in Khanty-Mansiysk.

After the exciting battles and many changes on the top of the standings, at the end of the day the defending rapid champion Antoaneta Stefanova, Alexandra Kosteniuk and Kateryna Lagno are joint leaders with 7,0/10 points each.

Olga Girya, Anna Muzychuk, Marina Guseva are half a point behind the leading pack. The event continues tomorrow at 3pm local time with the final five rounds.
In the 6th round Alexandra Kosteniuk outplayed Tatiana Kosintseva to overtake her on the top of the crosstable with 5,5/6 points. The other top game between Kateryna Lagno and Mariya Muzichuk was drawn and the Ukrainian players remained on the shared second place.
Irina Krush and Anna Muzychuk made a breakthrough by beating Zhao Xue and Elisabeth Paehtz respectively.

FIDE/ACP Anti-Cheating Committee meeting

top NYOn April 21-23, the FIDE/ACP Anti-Cheating Committee met at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University at Buffalo, NY, for finalizing the proposal to the General Assembly for the new Anti-Cheating regulations.

The meeting was also an occasion for a first-hand evaluation, together with leading academic experts, of the sophisticated anti-cheating tool developed by Prof. Kenneth Regan. FIDE wishes to thank the University at Buffalo for hosting this very important meeting and for devoting its professors' time to this project.
